Information about Donations

Mastectomy patients are never charged for a Necessities Bag.

Necessities Bags may be sponsored for $50 each.

However, a contribution of any amount is truly appreciated --

Necessities Bag Sacramento is a volunteer organization and relies solely on donations and grants for support.

Necessities Bag Sacramento, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible according to law.

All gifts are acknowledged in writing for tax records

Necessities does not share or sell personal information about donors or bag recipients. On-line donations are privacy protected.

Contributions to NBS can be made in honor of a woman battling breast cancer, in memory of someone, or for special occasions such as Mother’s Day or a birthday.

You can add a personal touch to your gift! Include a short message or just your name on a gift card to be placed inside the Necessities Bag. You may never know the woman you helped, but she will have your name to remember.

You Can Also Help By Collecting Supplies

Not everyone has the resources to donate time or money to a non-profit organization, but still want to help. Necessities Bag Sacramento has a unique opportunity for those who want to contribute somehow. Collect supplies for the bags on your next shopping trip! Necessities Bag recipients, community organizations, church group, Girl Scouts, women's groups, retail location drop-off collection sites, individuals who just want to assist in our cause – this is for you.

We always need:

-Men’s white cotton A-shirts, sizes L and XL

-Unflavored lip balm or Chapstick, tube or pot

-Personal wipes

-Pocket sized facial tissues

-Colorful 2-pocket folders

-Colorful spiral-top or side notebooks, small

-Lifesaver candy in rolls, or individually wrapped hard candy

-Soft, cheerful cotton fabric in 3-4 yard lengths (for pillows)

-Bags of super soft poly fiberfill (for pillows)

-Notecards & envelopes

-Emery boards

Wound care:

-5”x9”& 4”x4” wound dressing

-Rolls of low-tack paper tape

Other items:

-White business sized and notecard sized envelopes

-U.S. Postage

-White copy paper

-Snack-sized baggies, zip-lock
