BAG RECIPIENTS
How does Necessities Bag Sacramento gauge its effectiveness within the breast cancer community? We’ve discovered the Bags have a huge impact on women who are confronting the loss of one or both breasts. Each Necessities Bag contains a stamped, self-addressed note card asking for feedback from Bag recipients. Here are just a few of the testimonials we receive every week:
“Thank you so much for your thoughtful gift. The supplies were most welcome and I was overwhelmed that others would care enough to do something like that for me and others with breast cancer.”
– Rosemary
“…my mind was reeling, feeling completely overwhelmed and afraid of the unknown…..I have to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your unbelievable kindness with providing this amazing gift to me….truly, each and every item in the Bag was well thought out and so very appreciated!”
– Carol
“I am very thankful for the gifts in the Bag – they really came in handy, and the little booklet made me feel comfortable about the things I am feeling. Yes, your family tries. But sometimes it’s easier [coming] from someone you don’t know.”
– Barbara
“I really loved the orange pillows – each time I look at them I think of the comfort they provided.”
– Del
“I am a 39-year-old woman who, two weeks ago, went through a double mastectomy….my doctors handed me my Necessities Bag. I can’t begin to thank you as it was so helpful packing for the hospital, and having all the ‘little’ things that made me even more comfortable afterwards…”
– Kristin
“Thank you very much for the Necessities Bag. A very thoughtful, warm gift during a difficult moment in the hospital. Like myself, I’m sure a lot of women receiving the Bag accept it in their hearts as moral support – especially when there isn’t a lot of moral support in their lives.”
– Susana
